Boutique Délices de Guyane Paris

Our project

We are a company that manufactures jams, condiments, cordials and punch under the brand name 'Délices de Guyane’. Our aim is to :

Promote the endogenous development of French Guiana by structuring the agricultural sector and by actively participating in the economic development of our region by promoting training and social integration. We have therefore signed an agreement with the Matoury council to hire 10 young people on a social rehabilitation contract to harvest fruit. Each year, we recruit a dozen trainees.

We do not forget sustainable and equitable development: we work a lot with the native Americans of Macouria village who produce all our woven Arouman gift baskets.

Finally, we arrange numerous visits of the factory for the public and school groups, and we take part in all trade fairs.

To achieve this project :

We hired 3 employees when the factory was first opened, and since then we have created 8 new jobs including the recruitment of a disabled girl who makes our gift/presentation boxes.

We spent a long time working on our marketing strategy: the image of our products, madras-coloured lids, very simple labels to give our products a genuine value, and tamper-proof seal to reassure the consumer.

We have invested heavily in the factory to meet our new productivity demands by automating the filling line, tripling our mixing capacity, acquiring imaging equipment to make our own advertising and website content, by computerising production & scheduling, monitoring, product marketing and administrative processes, and by improving the factory’s loading platform and security.

French Guiana appropriated this tool. The region now has an ambassador for its know-how, its flavours, its ethics ; this ambassador is called Délices de Guyane.
